I was born and grew up in China. When I first stepped onto this country, I had nothing but a manual wheelchair and a suitcase. Now I live in my own house, speak English with my American husband and 6-year-old son, and drive to work everyday. My American dream has come true. I also substitute my wheelchair with a pair of crutches. Even though I walk very slow and fall often and unexpectedly, I always manage to get up without much embarrassment. I have complete independence, more mobility, and strong arms from using crutches.
